Equipment

  • Air fryer or pan

Ingredients

  • 7 fresh potatoes
  • pinch of salt
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • buttermilk optional
  • panko bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • flour

Instructions

  • Boil potatoes in salted water.
  • Remove the skin and mash the potatoes. Then, if desired, add the buttermilk and mix it into the mashed potatoes.
  • Form the mashed potatoes into balls with your hands. After that, insert a piece of cheese into the center of the mashed potato ball and close it.
  • Coat the potato balls with flour, shaking off the excess.
  • In a small bowl, whisk eggs, then dip the potato balls in them.
  • Spread out bread crumbs on a plate and coat the stuffed potato balls perfectly.
  • Air fryer method: Once you've finished breading all of the potato balls, spray oil into the air fryer basket. Then, place them in the basket. Cook for 7 minutes at 375ºF/191ºC, then flip them and cook for another 7 minutes. Cook until golden brown.
  • Deep-frying method: Fry the mashed potato balls in hot oil, adding only enough oil to cover at least a quarter of the volume of the balls. You must turn them over frequently and carefully until golden brown in this case.
  • Place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil, but you'll notice that this procedure doesn't use much oil.
  • Serve and enjoy!
