These Air Fryer Cream Cheese Puff Pastries are a crispy, flaky delight with a creamy, tangy center. Perfect for a quick snack or a sweet treat, they come together easily in just a few steps using puff pastry and cream cheese. The air fryer makes them golden and crisp without the need for deep frying.
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: cinnamon sugar for sprinkling
Instructions:
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Cut the Puff Pastry: Lay the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Cut it into 4 equal squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred size.
Fill the Pastry: Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square, spreading it slightly but leaving space around the edges to seal.
Fold and Seal: Fold each square into a triangle or rectangle, pinching the edges tightly to seal the cream cheese inside. If you like, you can lightly score the top of the pastry with a knife for a decorative touch.
Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each pastry for a golden finish.
Air Fry the Pastries: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the pastries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden and puffed up.
Optional – Sprinkle with Cinnamon Sugar: If you like, sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the warm pastries right after they come out of the air fryer for an extra touch of sweetness.
Serve and Enjoy: Let the pastries cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the crisp, buttery layers with the creamy filling inside!
