These Air Fryer Sausage Rolls are a crispy, golden delight with a savory sausage filling wrapped in flaky puff pastry. Perfect for a quick snack or party appetizer, they come out wonderfully crunchy and are surprisingly easy to make in your air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450g) sausage meat
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon of flour (for dusting)
- Optional: seasoning (like paprika, black pepper) or herbs (like thyme or rosemary)
Instructions
Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and let it preheat for a few minutes.
Prepare the Puff Pastry: Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases.
Shape the Sausage Filling: On one side of the puff pastry, spread the sausage meat in a long, even line. Season with optional spices or herbs if desired.
Roll the Pastry: Carefully roll the puff pastry over the sausage meat to form a log. Seal the edge by pinching the pastry together.
Cut into Rolls: Slice the log into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 2 inches long.
Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the beaten egg to give them a golden, glossy finish.
Cook in the Air Fryer: Place the sausage rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they’re not overcrowded. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
Cool and Serve: Let the sausage rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
