Homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe [Classic & Easy]

I love homemade chicken cordon bleu because it has fantastic stuffing. The first time you bite it, you will definitely enjoy its full flavor at once. Apart from ham and cheese, you can also add other ingredients, but these are the typical ones you will find inside. In addition to that, each piece of chicken bread can be dipped or covered in sauce to taste more flavors.

Equipment

  • Air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 raw and fresh chicken breast
  • 1 cup ground bread
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Maggi seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon English sauce
  • olive oil or cooking spray
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Manchego or Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Wash and rinse the chicken breast thoroughly. Rub a lemon over them and then rinse.
  • Remove the chicken's bones, cut the breasts into fillets. You can get 4 large fillets from a whole breast.
  • Combine salt, black pepper, garlic, Maggi seasoning, English sauce and vinegar. Marinate the chicken breast fillets in the marinade, then scrub them to incorporate all the flavors.
  • Put a slice of ham and Manchego cheese on the chicken breast. As you roll the chicken breast with ham and cheese inside, make a small fold to seal the sides, creating a square shape.
  • The next step is to coat the stuffed breasts in flour, then shake each piece to remove any excess.
  • In a separate recipient, break the egg and whisk it. Dip the chicken breasts into the whisked egg and cover them immediately with ground bread on another plate.
  • Sprinkle oil over the chicken breast pieces and arrange them in the air fryer basket/rack. Be careful not to overcrowd the basket.
  • Cook at 375ºF (176ºC) for 20 minutes, flipping them halfway. They are ready when golden brown.
  • Serve your homemade chicken cordon bleu with sauce and salad. Enjoy!
