Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

Prepare the Coating

  • In a shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly to create a flavorful crust mixture.

Beat the Egg

  • In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg until smooth. This will help the crust stick firmly to the pork chops.

Coat the Pork Chops

  • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure the coating adheres well. Dip each pork chop first into the beaten egg, then press it firmly into the parmesan breadcrumb mixture, covering all sides evenly.

Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes. This ensures the pork chops cook evenly and the crust crisps up perfectly.

Cook the Pork Chops

  • Place the coated pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray them lightly with olive oil spray. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the crust is golden brown.

Rest Before Serving

  • Once cooked, let the pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a tender, juicy bite.
