Easy Air Fryer Irish Soda Bread Recipe – Fresh and Delicious

This simple and hearty Irish Soda Bread is made with just a few ingredients and cooked in the air fryer for a perfect golden crust and soft, airy interior. The tangy buttermilk balances the flavors, while the baking soda helps the bread rise without yeast. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for any meal!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (you may need a bit more or less)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for added richness)

Instructions:

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the buttermilk and mix with a spoon or your hands until the dough comes together. If the dough feels too dry, add a little more buttermilk until you get a shaggy, sticky dough.

Shape the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently shape it into a round loaf. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper. Place the shaped dough into the basket.

Score the Bread: Using a sharp knife, make a shallow “X” on the top of the dough. This helps the bread cook evenly and gives it that classic soda bread look.

Cook the Bread: Air fry the bread at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes. Check the bread around 20 minutes by tapping the top—if it sounds hollow, it’s done!

Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with butter or your favorite spread. Enjoy!
